Micklefield Tennis Academy is a smashing success!

The Micklefield Tennis Academy was able to continue over the last year following a generous grant from Marsh and Micklefield Big Local. This has enabled about 30 children under 16 to experience tennis with an average of 16 attending regularly throughout the year.

Our top Coach Guy Britton and Coaching Assistant Echo Leonard are available for 2 hours every Saturday morning. We provide all equipment and it is free of charge to those in the Marsh and Micklefield catchment area. Most of the children walk or cycle to tennis.

We have held a Spring and Summer tournament but our Winter tournament in December was postponed until March due to slippery conditions. We welcomed the Chair of Marsh and Micklefield, Rachel Brown to present the prizes in May and the Mayor of High Wycombe Arif Hussain presented the prizes in July.

Children always enjoy the tennis and are learning ground strokes, serving, volleying, overhead smashes and the rules of the game. We thank Marsh and Micklefield Big Local, Ash Hill School, Guy and Echo and all the children and parents who make the Micklefield Tennis Academy a smash hit!
