Walking the River Wye again to raise funds for mental health.
High Wycombe, 2nd August, 2021.
Last Saturday 31st July, a group of 15 Wycombe Mind members walked from West Wycombe High Street to Wycombe Town Centre as another opportunity to raise awareness around mental health and funds for National Mind. The group had brunch at Desborough Recreation Ground.
The walk was another great success, and even a downpour of rain near the end could not dampen the spirits of everyone involved. The walk finished at Queen Victoria Road and the group enjoyed a well-deserved lunch provided for from Wycombe Rotary Club funding. The group are hoping to be the top fundraisers in the UK for this event.
This pandemic has given us more reason to fight and advocate for better mental health support and resources. Events such as these ensures that services such as Wycombe Mind are able to support their local community in recovery from mental health issues.
Wycombe Mind will be hosting their annual table tennis marathon in the near future months as an opportunity to raise funds and to bring the local community together.
